This chapter is enacted for the purpose of promoting the health, safety,
morals and general welfare of the inhabitants of the Town, including the protection
and preservation of property of the Town and its inhabitants and of the peace
and good order by limiting and regulating the use and operation of snowmobiles
within the Town in accordance with Article 25 of the Parks, Recreation and
Historic Preservation Law.

The words and phrases used in this chapter shall, for the purpose of
this chapter, have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by Article 21
of the Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Law of the State of New
York.

Unless otherwise provided in Article 25 of the Parks, Recreation and
Historic Preservation Law, no person shall operate any snowmobile on the right-of-way
of any town highway within the Town of Avon except as follows. On the shoulder
and inside banks of the following designated highways or portions thereof:
A. Nations Road between the Fowlerville Road and Hogmire
Road.
I. Pole Bridge Road from Lake Road to Triphammer Road.
L. North Avon Road from Jenks Road to Gilbert Mill Road.
M. Gilbert Mill Road to County Line.
