There is hereby created the Open Space, Farmland
Preservation, Conservation, Historical and Recreation Advisory Committee.

The Committee shall be comprised of seven members
appointed by the Mayor and Township Committee on a staggered-term
basis: three three-year terms, two two-year terms, and two one-year
terms.
Membership on the Committee shall consist of
representatives from the following categories and in such numbers
as set forth below:
A. Member of the Township Committee: one.
B. Member of the Recreation Committee: one.

C. Member of the Environmental Commission: one.
D. Active Farmer or Agricultural Business Owner: one.
E. Person with background of experience in historic sites,
and or preservation of the same: one.
F. Citizen members not affiliated with any other Township
Commission: two.
The Committee shall advise the Township Committee
on the use of trust funds for the acquisition by gift, purchase or
by eminent domain proceedings of development easements, other easements,
vacant land, as well as land which has improvements upon it at the
time of acquisition where the principal purpose of the acquisition
is for any or all of the following purposes, or any combination thereof:
A. Acquisition of lands for recreation and conservation
purposes:
B. Development of lands acquired for recreation and conservation
purposes;
C. Maintenance of lands acquired for recreation and conservation
purposes;
D. Acquisition of farmland for farmland preservation
purposes;
E. Historic preservation of historic properties, structures,
facilities, sites area, or objects for historic preservation purposes;
or
F. Payment of debt service on indebtedness issued or incurred by the Township of Mansfield for any of the purposes set forth in Subsections
A through
E above.
The Township Committee may from time to time
appropriate such amounts as are deemed necessary to carry out the
functions of the Committee.
