A junior firefighter's auxiliary is created within the Township of Mansfield, Warren County, New Jersey, pursuant to authorizations set forth in N.J.S.A. 40A:15-95 et seq.
No person shall be eligible for membership in the Junior Firemen's Auxiliary of the Township of Mansfield who is less than 16 or more than 21 years of age. Any person between the ages of 16 and 21 shall be required to obtain permission to join the auxiliary from their parent or guardian in writing. Such permission shall be acknowledged or proved in the manner required by law for deeds to real estate to be recorded to be accepted by the Township of Mansfield.
Any fire company of the Township of Mansfield's Fire Department shall be authorized to create a separate Junior Firemen's Auxiliary for each company; provided, however, prior to establishment of the same, rules and regulations setting forth the training of the auxiliary for eventual membership in the Volunteer Fire Department of the Township of Mansfield shall be adopted by said company and the Township Committee of the Township of Mansfield.
No Junior Fireman or member of a Junior Firemen's Auxiliary shall be required to perform duties which would expose him or her to the same degree of hazard as a regular member of the Volunteer Fire Company of which the organization is an auxiliary.
All rules and regulations established by any volunteer fire company which is a Mansfield Township Fire Department for the purposes of operation of a Junior Firemen's Auxiliary upon approval by the Township Committee shall be incorporated herein by reference. A copy of the same shall be on file with the Township Clerk at all times together with a copy of the same being available to the parent or guardian of any minor member of a Junior Firemen's Auxiliary through the Fire Chief of the individual fire company.
