No person shall discharge or cause to be discharged
or permit to be discharged a rifle, handgun, air gun, pellet gun or
other mechanism which propels a projectile with force capable of inflicting
bodily harm at any time within the boundaries of that portion of the
Township's Mill Hill property which is more fully described as Tax
Map Block 14, Unit 7 (hereinafter, the "Miklosovic Lands"). Nothing
contained in this section shall be construed to prevent the legitimate
use of firearms by police officers or other law enforcement officials.
The discharge or the causing to be discharged or the permitting to
be discharged of any firearm, air gun, weapons or other devices or
mechanisms which propel a projectile with force contrary to the provisions
of this section are hereby declared to be public nuisances dangerous
to life, limb and property and may be summarily abated by any police
officer or other authorized law enforcement official by confiscating
the same. Hereafter, it shall be unlawful for any person to hunt or
discharge a gun on the Miklosovic Lands.
Any person or persons violating any provision
of this article shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine
of not more than $1,000 plus costs of prosecution and, in default
of the payment of the fine and costs, to undergo imprisonment for
a period not to exceed 30 days.
The acquisition and posting of appropriate signage
giving notice of such prohibition is hereby authorized.
