For the purpose of nominating and electing the
elective officers of the Town and public schools, this Charter shall
be in effect from and after its approval by the registered voters,
and validating of election procedures by the General Assembly. For
all other purposes, this Charter shall be in effect from and after
the first Monday following the certification by the Board of Canvassers
of the first officers elected under this Charter in 1960. Amendments
to this Charter shall become effective upon approval.
