As used in this chapter, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
AMUSEMENT DEVICES
All coin-, script-, credit- or credit-operated machines or
game devices, including but not limited to the type of machines commonly
known as "bagatelle," "baseball," "football," "pinball" or "video
games," excluding any other device which possession of or use of is
otherwise prohibited by law.
AMUSEMENTS
All circuses, menageries, sideshows, theaters, theatrical
performances, exhibitions, concerts, minstrel shows, sleight-of-hand
performances, bazaars and other performances and merry-go-rounds and
other similar forms of amusement, given, used or exhibited, for money
or hire, and the pursuit or exercise of any of the above amusements
for money or hire, or for the purpose of holding, attracting, gaining
attention for the purposes of advertisement, demonstration or display
of goods, wares, merchandise or services.
ENTERTAINMENT
Every form of live entertainment, music, solo, band or orchestra
or music group, act, play, burlesque show, fashion show, review, pantomime,
scene, song or dance act or performance or action participated in
by one or more persons for the purpose of holding the attention of,
gaining the attention and interest of, diverting or amusing guests
or patrons and shall include, without limiting the generality of the
foregoing, any of such forms of live entertainment when used in connection
with or as a means to attract or hold the attention of such guests
or patrons for the purpose of advertisement, demonstration or display
of goods, wares, merchandise or services. "Entertainment" shall also
include the providing or permitting of music or singing for any of
the foregoing purposes by means of a radio, phonograph, tape or any
device, machine or mechanism.
PREMISES
Any parcel of land, building, structure, vehicle, boat, airplane
or any other property or part thereof.

All circuses, menageries, sideshows, theaters,
theatrical performances, exhibitions, concerts, minstrel shows, sleight-of-hand
performances, bazaars and other performances and merry-go-rounds and
other similar forms of amusement, given, used or exhibited, for money
or hire and the pursuit or exercise of any of the above amusements
for money or hire are hereby prohibited, unless a license therefor
be obtained at the fee of $100 per day.
Licenses shall be issued by the Mayor of the
Village to such persons as he shall deem fit and proper to receive
the same. The license shall in all cases specify the fee to be paid
therefor and the time and place for which the same is issued.
No license shall be required for any such performance,
exhibition or amusement given by or sponsored by resident citizens
or local organizations. However, if any damage or expense shall be
sustained by the Village because of any such performance, exhibition
or amusement, whether in violation of this chapter or not, the person,
persons or sponsoring organization will be held liable for all damages,
costs and expenses that may be sustained or suffered by the Village
because of the performance, exhibition or amusement.

A violation of this chapter shall be punishable
by a fine not exceeding $250 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding
15 days, or by both fine and imprisonment, for each offense.
