The Township Council of the Township of Jackson has adopted
and enacted a Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual and an employee
handbook. The Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual applies to
all officials, appointees, employees, volunteers and independent contractors.
The Policies and Procedures Manual is not a contract and is intended
to provide guidelines covering public service by Township employees.
The manual shall be kept on file in the Township Clerk's office
for inspection and review by all employees of the Township, as well
as the general public, during normal business hours.
The Township Council of the Township of Jackson reserves the
right to rescind or revise, without notice, and at the sole discretion
of the governing body, any policies and provisions of the manual.
In the event there is a conflict between the manual and any collective
bargaining agreement, personnel services contract, federal law or
state law, the terms and conditions of that contract or law shall
prevail.

As of September 1, 2014, mandatory direct deposit of net pay
is established for all employees of the Township of Jackson, including
any person holding public office, position, or employment whose compensation
is paid by the Township of Jackson. Compensation shall be deposited
directly into each employee's specific banking institution based upon
information provided by the employee. Seasonal and temporary employees
may be exempt from the direct deposit mandate.

The Chief Financial Officer shall make available, for such employees
who have net pay directly deposited, any information concerning net
pay, any accompanying information approved for distribution with net
pay, and W-2 forms in accordance with applicable federal law, only
on the Internet, or via e-mail, with restricted access and policies
and procedures to protect the integrity and confidentiality of the
information.

A. The governing
body is authorized to grant an exemption from the requirements adopted
pursuant to this subsection on such terms and conditions as the governing
body may deem necessary.
B. The governing
body is authorized to grant an exemption for seasonal and temporary
employees as the governing body may deem necessary.
