All ornamental and shade trees standing within, or whose branches or any part thereof extend over, any public place or street, avenue or sidewalk in the Village of Coxsackie shall be so trimmed that the lowest branches shall not be less than 12 feet from the ground, and it shall be the duty of the owner or occupant of the premises upon which such trees shall stand to so trim the same.

No person, firm or corporation shall cut down or trim any tree standing in or upon any street, avenue, lane or alley, roadway or public ground in the Village of Coxsackie without first obtaining the permission and consent of the Board of Trustees of said Village.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be punishable by a fine of not more than $250 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or both.
