It is the purpose of this chapter to regulate mobile homes and various types of trailers within the Village of Fishkill, and the Board of Trustees does hereby declare that this chapter is adopted in the interest of public health and safety of the inhabitants of the Village of Fishkill, and, further, to prevent nuisances and generally to protect the welfare of the public.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
HOUSE TRAILER
Any vehicle designed to be used as sleeping or living quarters, whether propelled by its own power or power of another vehicle to which it may be attached.
MOBILE HOME
Any portable vehicular structure built on a chassis and designed to be used without a permanent foundation as a dwelling when connected to utilities.
STORAGE TRAILER
Any portable vehicular structure built on a chassis and designed to be used without a permanent foundation as a storage structure, storage trailer, contractor's trailer, construction trailer or utility trailer.
A. 
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to use any land located within the boundaries of the Village of Fishkill as a trailer or mobile home park, as defined in this chapter.
B. 
It shall also be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to store two or more mobile homes, house trailers or storage trailers on any land located within the boundaries of the Village of Fishkill.
No person shall allow a mobile home, storage trailer or house trailer to be detached from its towing vehicle and permit the same to remain standing in any public street, park or municipal lot in the Village.
The Village of Fishkill Police Department will have the authority to cite (ticket) any mobile home, storage trailer, house trailer or any other type of trailer left standing on any Village street. After notification to the owner of said vehicle, and the vehicle is not removed from the street, the Police Department may authorize it to be towed to a designated location and the owner shall pay such expenses incurred for this removal from the streets.
Any person violating any provision of this chapter may be punishable by a fine of not more than $250 or imprisonment for a period not exceeding 15 days, or both.
