There shall be a City Clerk who shall be appointed by the Mayor,
subject to confirmation by the Common Council. They shall serve at
the pleasure of the Mayor and be directly responsible to the Mayor.
Transmit to the Mayor in duplicate within three calendar days of
any Council meeting certified copies of all resolutions, ordinances
and local laws adopted at the Council meetings.
Maintain an official depository of all City records, including but
not limited to all proceedings, laws, ordinances, resolutions, rules,
regulations, contracts and agreements.
Have all powers and duties assigned to city clerks by state law and
such powers and duties assigned to town clerks which are not inconsistent
with other provisions of this Charter or the Administrative Code.[1]
Perform such other duties as may, from time to time, be assigned
by the Council or the Mayor or authorized by law, this Charter or
the Administrative Code.
