There shall be a City Clerk who shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to confirmation by the Common Council. They shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor and be directly responsible to the Mayor.
The City Clerk shall:

Serve as ex officio clerk to the various boards and commissions and maintain a record of their proceedings.

Have custody of the City Seal.
D.
Transmit to the Mayor in duplicate within three calendar days of any Council meeting certified copies of all resolutions, ordinances and local laws adopted at the Council meetings.

Have the powers of a commissioner of deeds.
F.
Hire staff as may be provided for in the budget.
G.
Maintain an official depository of all City records, including but not limited to all proceedings, laws, ordinances, resolutions, rules, regulations, contracts and agreements.
I.
Perform such other duties as may, from time to time, be assigned by the Council or the Mayor or authorized by law, this Charter or the Administrative Code.
