[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Nissequogue 4-5-1988 by L.L. No. 1-1988. Amendments noted where applicable.]
No person shall operate any motorbike, minibike, go-cart, tractor, trailer or any other type of vehicle upon any of the highways within the Village at a rate of speed or in such manner as would endanger the property of another or the life or limb of any person nor at a rate of speed greater than will permit such person to bring such vehicle to a stop without injury to another person or his property.
No minibike, motorbike, motor scooter, motor-driven cycle, go-cart or any similar vehicle shall be driven upon any of the highways of the Village unless both the vehicle and the operator thereof shall have been duly licensed pursuant to the applicable provisions of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York and such vehicle is covered by adequate liability insurance.
Any person committing an offense against any provision of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be guilty of a violation pursuant to the Penal Law of the State of New York, punishable by a fine not exceeding $250 or by imprisonment for a term not exceeding 15 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. The continuation of an offense against the provisions of this article shall constitute, for each day the offense is continued, a separate and distinct offense hereunder.
Automobiles or any other vehicles parked, stopped or left standing on private property within the Village, and without the express consent of the owner of such property, shall constitute acts of trespass, and such parking, stopping and standing is prohibited hereby.
Automobiles or any other vehicles which would be required to be licensed if driven or operated on any of the highways of the Village shall be so licensed, bearing a current valid registration number plate issued pursuant to the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York, unless such vehicle is driven or operated on private property and is housed in a garage or other suitable building when the same is not being so driven or operated.
