Effective December 1, 1984, there shall be one Assessor in the Town of Cazenovia. The Assessor shall be appointed as provided in § 1522 of the Real Property Tax Law as it shall be amended from time to time.[1]

This article shall be subject to permissive referendum. Upon the effective date of this article, the term or terms of office of any Assessor then in office shall terminate.
The term of office of the appointed Assessor shall be as is set forth in § 1522 of the Real Property Tax Law as it shall be amended from time to time.

This article is adopted pursuant to § 512 of the New York State Real Property Tax Law.
It is the purpose of this article to establish the first Thursday after the fourth Tuesday in May as the permanent grievance day for the Town of Cazenovia.
The 2010 grievance day shall be held on the first Thursday after the fourth Tuesday in May, and each grievance day thereafter shall be held on the first Thursday after the fourth Tuesday in May until this article is rescinded or superseded by subsequent local law.
