Any vehicle that is parked after the declaration of an emergency and the posting of signs as referred to in §
287-6 shall be deemed to be in violation of this article and may be removed consistent with the provisions of §
287-8 of this article.
Any unoccupied vehicle parked or standing in violation of this article for a period of 12 hours from the time of posting of "emergency — no parking" signs shall be deemed a nuisance and a menace to the safe and proper regulation of traffic, and any police officer may provide for the removal of such vehicle. The owner thereof shall pay the reasonable cost of the removal and storage which may result from such removal, which fee shall net exceed the maximum fees for storing of vehicles as established by the Mayor and Council pursuant to §
410-8 of the Code.
Unless another penalty is expressly provided by New Jersey statute,
any person convicted of a violation of a provision of this article
shall be liable for a penalty of $50 or imprisonment not exceeding
15 days, or both.
