Article IX, Section 907 of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Code[1] authorizes members of the Zoning Hearing Board to receive compensation for the performance of their duties, as may be fixed by the Borough Council.

Members of the Zoning Hearing Board shall receive compensation at the rate of $50 for each public hearing conducted and attended in the performance of their duties.
Alternate members of the Zoning Hearing Board shall only receive compensation when designated as a voting member of the Board by the Chairman of the Zoning Hearing Board when a quorum is not reached by reason of absence or disqualification of a member.
