Pursuant to requirement set forth in N.J.A.C. 5:70-4:19, all residential dwelling units shall have operational smoke detectors installed in the manner and location consistent with the requirements of the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code.
All smoke detectors are to be approved by Underwriters' Testing Laboratories, Incorporated.

Any person who violates any provision of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be liable to the general penalty in Chapter 1, Article II, General Penalty, of the Township Code.
