[Adopted as Title 2, Ch. 2.26, of the 1986 Code]
There is established in the City a municipal office to be known
as the "Office of Bee Commissioner."
A. The Bee Commissioner shall be especially fitted to perform the duties
of his office and by actual experience must be skilled in the art
of handling and raising bees.
B. He shall be appointed by the Mayor for a term of five years.
C. The term of office of the person first appointed under this article
shall be until the first Monday of 1958 and until a successor is appointed.
A. The Bee Commissioner shall investigate any and all complaints concerning
the keeping of bees and the location and number of hives and apiaries.
B. Such complaints shall not be acted upon unless originally made in
writing to the Commissioner of Public Health of the City.
C. In the event the locations of such apiaries or hives are not consistent
with public safety in the opinion of the Bee Commissioner, the owner
shall remove such apiaries, hives or other structures to a location
approved by the Bee Commissioner.
