Members covered by workmen's compensation shall be entitled
to the benefits provided by the Workmen's Compensation Law of
the State of New York. All injuries in the line of duty must be reported
immediately to the Chief of Police, through channels.
Members of the Department shall be members in the New York State
Policemen and Firemen Retirement System. Other employees in the Department
shall be members of the New York State Employees' Retirement
System. All matters pertaining to retirement benefits are under the
sole jurisdiction of the appropriate system relating to the employee's
status within the Department.
Members of the Department, if enrolled, are covered by the social
security system.
Absence due to injury in the line of duty is to be recorded
in the blotter and the injured officer, when capable, will report
to the Village Clerk's office to complete the workmen's
compensation forms.
School crossing guards shall be entitled to sick leave with
pay, not to exceed three days or 15 hours, during said school year,
or what other time may be approved by the Village Board.
