Valves for use on the distribution mains shall be gate valves,
nonrising stem, 200 psi working pressure, in accordance with AWWA
C500 standards, complete with cast-iron round base, valve box and
lid for buried applications.
Electric power supply should be available from at least two
independent sources. All essential pumping facilities shall be provided
with an auxiliary source of power. When power failure would result
in cessation of minimum essential services, means for emergency operation
(standby generator, etc.) shall be provided.
It shall be the responsibility of the person who is governed by the provisions of §
252-2A of this article to provide the necessary personnel and equipment to operate and maintain the facilities to the satisfaction of the Township, including the sampling, analyses, monitoring of the finished water throughout the system and other procedures complying with the Interim Primary Regulations of the Safe Drinking Water Act (Public Law 93-523).
All applicants for installing or constructing public or multi-use
wells and water distribution systems shall file a notice of intent
with the Board of Supervisors and the Township Planning Commission.
The notice of intent shall be accompanied by a plot plan showing the
location of water supply wells, the distribution system and all appurtenant
data for the area to be serviced.
