There shall be established an Agricultural Advisory Committee
which shall be known as Alexandria Township Agricultural Advisory
Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Advisory Committee").

The purpose of the Agricultural Advisory Committee shall be
as an advisory group to facilitate the Township's farmland preservation
program, to provide recommendations to the Township regarding its
farmland preservation program and to provide consultation to the Township
Land Use Board in connection with the preparation of a Master Plan
farmland preservation plan element pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-28b(13)
and N.J.S.A. 4:1C-43.1b(4).
The Advisory Committee shall be constituted as follows: At least
three persons, but no more than five persons:
A. Residing within Alexandria Township;
B. A majority of whom are actively engaged in farming and own a portion
of the land they farm;
C. Who shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consult of the Township
Committee; and
D. Provided that no member of the Advisory Committee or member of his
or her "immediate family," as that term is defined in N.J.A.C. 2:76-17A.3(a)(1)(iii)(1),
during the time of his or her service as a member of the Advisory
Committee, shall be in the process of selling or applying to sell
a development easement on his or her property or from selling or applying
to sell his or her property in fee simple title pursuant to the Agriculture
Retention and Development Act, N.J.S.A. 4:1C-11 et seq., and the Garden
State Preservation Trust Act, N.J.S.A. 13:8C-1 et seq. This prohibition
does not apply to a person who previously has sold, or previously
has applied to sell, a development easement or fee simple parcel and
such sale has successfully closed or such application has been rejected
or has been withdrawn from the application process.

Each member of the Commission serves at the pleasure of the
Mayor and Township Committee and reports to the Land Use Board.
The following rules and regulations shall govern meetings of
the Advisory Committee:
A. The Advisory Committee shall hold regular meetings, at least once
in each month;
B. At all such meetings a majority of the full authorized membership
of the Advisory Committee shall constitute a quorum;
C. The Advisory Committee shall at its first regular meeting each year
appoint a Chair and a Vice Chair, each of whom shall hold office for
a period of one year until a successor has been appointed, and each
shall have and carry out duties normally attributed to such office;
D. The Advisory Committee may from time to time by an affirmative vote
of not less than 2/3 of the members present at any meeting, appoint
a subcommittee or subcommittees for any specific purpose or purposes.
