[Adopted 5-1-2000 (Ch. 96, Art. IV, of the 1982 Code)]
The purpose of this article is to comply with the conditions
for obtaining New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP)
grant funds for the sanitary sewer improvements.
A. It is prohibited to make any new connections from inflow sources
into the treatment facility. All new sewers and connections into the
treatment facilities must be properly designed and constructed.
B. The Sewer Department shall diligently investigate any existing inflow
sources and eliminate such sources within a reasonable time period.
C. All wastewater introduced into the treatment facilities shall not
contain toxics or other pollutants in amounts or concentrations that
endanger public safety and the physical integrity of the treatment
facilities, nor violate effluent or water quality limitations, nor
preclude the selection of the most cost effective alternative for
wastewater treatment and sludge disposal.
D. The costs of operations and maintenance for all flows not directly
attributable to users, i.e. infiltration and inflow, shall be distributed
among all users in the same manner that the cost for actual use is
distributed.
