Editor's Note: This local law passed at mandatory referendum
2-22-2011.
The purpose of this article is to abolish the office of Receiver
of Taxes and Assessments in the Town of Geddes, New York.
The office of Receiver of Taxes and Assessments in the Town
of Geddes, New York, is hereby abolished. The powers and duties of
that office shall be transferred to the office of the Town Clerk of
the Town of Geddes, New York.
This article shall be subject to a mandatory referendum.
This article is hereby enacted under the authority of the Municipal
Home Rule Law, §§ 10, 22 and 23. The Town hereby expressly
states its intention that this article shall supersede any provision
of the Town Law of the State of New York to the contrary, including
but not limited to Town Law §§ 20, 30 and 37.
