Before the Town acquires any real property whether by lease,
gift, or by the exercise of the power of eminent domain, it shall
require that a site assessment be made by qualified environmental
consultants or engineers to determine the presence, or absence, of
any hazardous material on the site in violation of Massachusetts General
Laws Chapter 21E or of any other law, rule or regulation which might
impose a future liability upon the Town for removal of any such materials.
