The owner of every residential, industrial, or commercial building
shall maintain the street number on the front of the building or in
the area of the main entrance.
The Board of Assessors shall be in charge of assigning new street
numbers and resolving any disputes as to existing numbers.
The owner of any building presently numbered shall be deemed to comply with this bylaw by displaying the present number, until and unless notified by the proper authority that his/her present numbering is a safety concern or is deemed indiscernible; at that point the owner has 10 days to comply as stated in §
50-6, Violations and penalties.
This bylaw shall not apply to accessory structures.
Whoever violates any provision of this bylaw shall be liable
to a penalty of $1 per day for each date during or on which failure
to so number continues, commencing 10 days following date of receipt
of written notice from the Town Clerk.
