The Council of the Borough of West Mifflin deems it advisable to remove the hazard to children from playing with abandoned refrigerators.
A. 
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to leave inside or outside of any public or private building or dwelling, or in any other place accessible to children, any unattended or abandoned icebox, refrigerator, ice chest, freezer, foot locker, trunk or any other container whatsoever of a capacity of 1 1/2 cubic feet or more, without first removing all doors, lids, covers or tops therefrom.
B. 
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to permit any other person, firm or corporation to leave inside or outside of any public or private building or dwelling, or in any other place accessible to children, any unattended or abandoned icebox, refrigerator, ice chest, freezer, foot locker, trunk or any other container whatsoever of a capacity of 1 1/2 cubic feet or more, without first removing all doors, lids, covers or tops therefrom.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $600, plus costs, and, in default of payment of said fine and costs, to a term of imprisonment not to exceed 30 days. Each day that a violation of this article continues shall constitute a separate offense.
