No pigeons, chickens or other poultry shall be kept within 25
feet of any structure owned by another and used for human habitation,
occupation or assembly. In no case shall any person or persons be
permitted to keep more than 50 pigeons, chickens, ducks or other poultry.
No person shall keep pigeons, chickens or other poultry in the City without having first obtained from the Health Officer a permit for that purpose. The permit may be issued by the Health Officer upon the payment of a fee as set forth in Chapter
155, Fees, and the permit shall expire on December 31 in each and every year.
The following regulations and conditions shall be complied with
in the keeping and housing of pigeons, chickens and other poultry
in the City:
A. The house or coop shall be:
(1) Dry, well ventilated, with windows to admit sunlight.
(2) Well whitewashed or painted within.
(3) Cleaned at least once a week and to be disinfected, if necessary.
B. Perches shall be removable and kept clean.
C. Chicken nests shall be removable, cleaned, aired and sunned at frequent
intervals.
D. Drinking cups shall be clean and supplied at all times with clean
water.
E. Yards shall be kept clean and free from odors.
The Health Officer is hereby empowered to suspend or revoke
the license held by any person who shall violate any of the provisions
of this article.

Any person who violates or neglects to comply with any provision of this article or code established herein, or notice issued pursuant thereto, shall, upon conviction thereof, be liable to a penalty as provided in Chapter
1, Article
IV, General Penalty.
