4-1-1.
The town administrator shall be appointed by the select board for a 3-year term; shall be the administrative officer of the town; and shall be responsible to the select board for the administration of all town affairs placed in their charge by or under the charter. The town administrator shall be a person especially fitted by education, training or previous experience to perform the duties of the office. The town administrator shall be a person especially fitted by education, which shall consist of not less than a bachelor's degree from an accredited degree-granting college or university and a minimum of 7 years of professional experience that shall include previous, full-time, compensated service in a managerial capacity in public or business administration.
4-1-2.
The town administrator shall not need to be a resident of the town.
4-1-3.
The town administrator shall hold no elected or other appointed town office, except in an ex officio capacity; shall devote full time to the duties of the office; and shall engage in no other business or occupation without the advance written authorization of the select board.
4-1-4.
The town administrator shall not be eligible for appointment until not less than 12 months after the last date of service in an elected office in the town government.
