The Mayor or his designee shall be responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, policing and supervision of parking meters in this Village. Parking meter zones are hereby established as described in Schedule XVII (§ 92-49), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
The Village reserves the right to designate any location in Schedule XVII as time parking by utilizing parking meters with times ranging from one hour in low-intensity areas to 10 minutes in high-intensity areas. Intensity determinations will be made by the Village Board according to the volume of traffic in specified sections. Footage specifications will meet the requirements of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
A. 
Installation. Pavement markings shall be applied where practicable, outlining parking spaces in the parking meter zones established in this article. Parking meters shall be installed immediately adjacent to the parking spaces.
B. 
Operation. Each parking meter shall operate so as to indicate that the appropriate fee has been deposited in such meter. Each parking meter shall display a signal indicating the expiration of the time period associated with such meter.
The Village Treasurer shall keep a record of the collection of fees from all parking meters in this Village and shall credit fees to the general fund.
A. 
No person shall park a vehicle in a parking space of any parking meter zone adjacent to a parking meter during the hours of parking meter operations while such meter is displaying a signal indicating the expiration of the time period associated with the deposit of fees.
B. 
No person shall deposit or attempt to deposit in any parking meter any slug, button or any other device or substance as a substitute for coins of United States currency.
C. 
No person shall remain in the same location for a period in excess of one hour after having received a notice of violation of any provision of this Article III while in such location.[1]
