A. 
No person shall sell or offer for sale to any person under the age of 18 years any can or container containing paint and a propellant and designed to spray paint, commonly known as a "paint spray can."
B. 
It shall be the duty of any person who sells or offers for sale any container described in Subsection A to require from any person desiring to purchase such container, and appearing to be less than 18 years of age, identification and proof of such person's age before selling or delivering a container to such a person.
Any person selling or offering for sale a can or container of spray paint to a person under the age of 18 years shall be guilty of a violation of this article and punishable by a fine of not more than $500 or to imprisonment, or both, pursuant to § 1-4 of the Code of the City of Mount Vernon.
