The Village Board recognizes the recreational use of snowmobiles on authorized trails within the Village of Akron. The Village Board has been advised by its Police Department that the use of snowmobiles on Village streets and rights-of-way constitutes a hazard to pedestrians, other vehicles, and snowmobiles.
It shall be unlawful to operate a snowmobile on the streets or rights-of-way of the Village of Akron at any time except as follows:
A. 
On a street or right-of-way which is designated by resolution of the Village Board for the operation of snowmobiles.
B. 
In the case of a snow emergency, on streets or rights-of-way as authorized by the order of the Mayor.
A violation of this chapter shall be punishable by fine or imprisonment as described in the General Penalty (§ 1-14) in the Code of the Village of Akron.
