The President shall be elected for a four-year term and shall
serve until his or her successor is elected and qualified as provided
by statute.

Before entering upon the duties of his or her office, the President
shall execute a bond in such amount determined by the Village Board
in an amount not less than required by the Illinois Municipal Code.
Such sureties shall be conditioned upon the faithful performance of
the duties of his or her office.
The President shall act for and on behalf of the Village on
formal occasions and receptions. In his or her absence or inability
to attend any function, the Village Board may select any other officer
to so act.

In the absence of the President or in his or her inability to
act, the Board shall elect one of its members to act as president
pro-tem.
