(a) 
The owner of any one- or two-family residential building shall be required to obtain from the Bureau of Fire Prevention within the Morris Plains Fire Department an inspection and a certificate evidencing compliance with the smoke sensitive alarm device requirements of N.J.S.A. 52:27D-198.1 et seq. prior to any sale, lease or change of occupancy of the premises.
(b) 
The owner of any one- or two-family residential building shall be required to obtain from the Bureau of Fire Prevention within the Morris Plains Fire Department an inspection and a certificate evidencing compliance with the carbon monoxide sensor device requirements of N.J.S.A. 52:27D-133.3 et seq. prior to any sale, lease or change of occupancy of the premises.

A fee for the inspection of residential smoke alarm devices and carbon monoxide sensor devices and issuance of a certificate of compliance is established as set forth in the Fee Schedule of the Borough of Morris Plains, Chapter 2, Section 2-46, of the Revised Ordinances. Said fee shall be paid to the Borough of Morris Plains prior to inspection and issuance of the certificate.
