Pursuant to MCLA § 257.951, the Uniform Traffic Code
for Cities, Townships, and Villages, as promulgated by the director
of the Michigan Department of State Police pursuant to the Administrative
Procedures Act of 1969, 1969 PA 306, MCLA §§ 24.201
to 24.328 and made effective October 30, 2002, and all future amendments
and revisions to the Uniform Traffic Code when they are promulgated
and effective in this state are incorporated and adopted by reference.
Such code as adopted shall also be known as the "Holland Uniform Traffic
Code".

References in the Uniform Traffic Code for Cities, Townships,
and Villages (Holland Uniform Traffic Code), as adopted, to "governmental
unit" shall mean the "City of Holland".

Citations to the Uniform Traffic Code for Cities, Townships,
and Villages (Holland Uniform Traffic Code) shall refer to the Uniform
Traffic Code sections, and with such sections being Rule 1 through
Rule 905, R28.1001 through R28.1905, and may be cited by inserting
the letter "H" before such citation section numbers.

The purposes of this chapter are to ensure the public safety
and to provide for the safety of pedestrian and vehicular traffic
within the City of Holland. Notice is hereby given that printed copies
of the Holland Uniform Traffic Code shall be kept in the office of
the City Clerk, available for inspection by, and distribution to,
the public at all times. It is hereby acknowledged that the Holland
Uniform Traffic Code shall be kept in the office of the City Clerk
in compliance with state law which requires that records of public
bodies be made available to the general public.

For any ordinances or parts thereof within this chapter which
conflict with any provision of the Uniform Traffic Code, the ordinance
shall control.
