A. All taxicabs
before operating in streets of Chaffee shall be licensed. Fee shall
be ten dollars ($10.00) per year for the first (1st) cab and an additional
fee of five dollars ($5.00) per year for each additional cab. Before
being granted license, each cab owner must make application to the
City Clerk upon application furnished by the City. This application
shall be accompanied by a liability policy in some reliable insurance
company in the sum of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) for
one (1) person or three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000.00) per
accident. This application shall show the make and model of the automobile
and shall contain a statement showing the automobile to be in good
mechanical repair. It shall be further approved by a member of the
State Highway Patrol as to its mechanical condition. Upon receipt
of application in proper form and approved liability policy, the license
shall be issued.
B. The City
has the authority to inspect all cabs as to the mechanical condition
at any time. If upon inspection the cab is found to be faulty as to
mechanical condition, it must be immediately withdrawn from service
until its mechanical condition has been approved by the City Marshal.
