A. 
In order to regulate and govern the safeguarding of life and property from fire and explosion hazards arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the occupancy of buildings and premises, and to provide for the issuance of permits for hazardous uses or operations, except for such portions as herein modified, added, deleted or amended within this Article, the International Fire Code, 2000 Edition, published by the International Code Council, is hereby adopted and shall be incorporated as if fully set forth herein, and shall be hereafter known as the Fire Code of the City of Mound City, Missouri, including the following appendices:
1. 
Appendix B — Fire Flow Requirements for Building;
2. 
Appendix C — Fire Hydrant Locations and Distribution;
3. 
Appendix D — Fire Apparatus Access Roads;
4. 
Appendix E — Hazardous Categories;
5. 
Appendix F — Hazard Ranking;
6. 
Appendix G — Cryogenic Fluids — Weight and Volume Equivalents.
A. 
Insertions. The International Fire Code, 2000 Edition, as adopted as the Fire Code of the City of Mound City, Missouri, is hereby subject to the following insertions:
1. 
Section 101.1. The Term City of Mound City shall be inserted;
2. 
Section 111.4. The insertions in that Section shall read "...a fine of not less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00)."
3. 
Wherever a reference is made to "jurisdiction" within the International Fire Code, 2000 Edition, it shall be understood to mean the City of Mound City, Missouri.
B. 
International Fire Code — Area Limitations. The area limits referred to in certain Sections of the International Fire Code, 2000 Edition, are hereby established as follows:
1. 
In Section 3204.3.1.1 of the International Fire Code, 2000 Edition, storage of flammable cryogenic fluids in stationary containers is prohibited in the following zones: "A-1", "A-2", "R-1", "R-2", "C-1" and "I-1";
2. 
In Section 3404.2.9.5.2 of the International Fire Code, 2000 Edition, storage of Class I and Class II liquids in above-ground tanks outside of buildings is prohibited in the following zones: "A-1", "A-2", "R-1", "R-2", "C-1" and "I-1";
3. 
In Section 3406.2.4.4 of the International Fire Code, 2000 Edition, storage of Class I and Class II liquids in above-ground tanks is prohibited in the following zones: "A-1", "A-2", "R-1", "R-2", "C-1" and "I-1";
4. 
In Section 3804.2 of the International Fire Code, 2000 Edition, the storage of liquefied petroleum gas is restricted for the protection of heavily populated or congested areas, and shall be prohibited in the following zones: "A-1", "A-2", "R-1", "R-2", "C-1" and "I-1".
C. 
International Fire Code — Deletions. The following portions as set forth in the International Fire Code, 2000 Edition, shall be deleted in their entirety.

Section 105 — Permits;
2. 
Section 108 — Board of Appeals;
3. 
Section 109.3 — Violation penalties;
4. 
Appendix A — Board of Appeals.
D. 
International Fire Code Modification And Amendments. The International Fire Code, 2000 Edition, as adopted as the Building Code of the City of Mound City, Missouri, is hereby subject to the following amendments and/or modifications:
1. 
Chapter 33: Explosives and Fireworks of the International Fire Code, 2000 Edition, is hereby amended to include Section 210.480: Fireworks of the Municipal Code of the City of Mound City, which is adopted and made part of the International Fire Code by reference, as if fully set forth therein. In the event there are any conflicts between provisions contained within Chapter 33: Explosives and Fireworks and provisions contained within Section 210.480: Fireworks, the language of Section 210.480: Fireworks shall prevail.
2. 
Section 3804.2 of the International Fire Code, 2000 Edition, shall be modified and the language the "aggregate capacity of any one (1) installation shall not exceed a water capacity of two thousand (2,000) gallons (7570L)" is hereby deleted and the following language is substituted in its place: "the aggregate capacity of any one (1) installation shall not exceed a water capacity of one hundred twenty five (125) gallons (473L).
Any person aggrieved by a decision or action of the Code Enforcement Officer or designee of the Fire Division or other official of the City of Mound City under this Article may appeal such decision or action to the Board of Code Appeals. Such appeal shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Ordinances of the City of Mound City, all of which are adopted herein by reference as if set forth fully herein.
