A. The
City hereby adopts the International Property Maintenance Code, 2018
Edition, as published by the International Code Council, including
Appendix Chapter A as the official Property Maintenance Code of the
City of Harrisonville, Missouri.
B. The
City is hereby directed to maintain one (1) copy of the International
Property Maintenance Code, 2018 Edition, at all times in the offices
of the City.

A. The
International Property Maintenance Code adopted by the provisions
of this Article is hereby amended and/or modified in the following
respects:
1. IPMC Section 101.1, insert "City of Harrisonville."
2. IPMC Section 103, Department of Property Maintenance Inspection,
shall be amended as follows: Delete "Department of Property Maintenance
Inspection" and insert "Community Development Department."

3. IPMC Section 103.1, General, shall be amended as follows: Delete
the entire paragraph and insert "The Community Development Department
is hereby created, and the official in charge thereof for purposes
of administration of this Code shall be known as the Building Official,
Code Official or Director of Community Development."

4. Delete IPMC Section 103.5, Fees, in its entirety. Fees shall be as
established in the City's Comprehensive Schedule of Fees.

5. Delete IPMC Section 111, Means of Appeal, in its entirety.
6. IPMC Section 112, (A) 112.4 Failure to comply; insert five hundred
dollars ($500.00) and one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) for not less
than and not more than amounts for failure to comply with stop work
orders.
7. IPMC Section 302.4 insert "12 inches."
8. IPMC Section 304.14 insert "January 1st" to "December 31st."
9. IPMC Section 602.3 insert "September 15th" to "May 30th."
10. IPMC Section 602.4 insert "September 15th" to "May 30th."

A. Proceedings
for review of the decision of the Board of Building and Engineering
may be instituted by filing a petition in the County Circuit Court
within thirty (30) days after the mailing or delivery of notice of
the Board of Building And Engineering's final decision. Said appeal
shall be filed in accordance with Chapter 536, RSMo., as amended.
B. If,
in the determination of the City Administrator or his/her designee,
it reasonably appears that there is immediate danger to the health,
safety or welfare of any person, the City Administrator or his/her
designee may take emergency measures to vacate and repair or demolish
the dangerous building or structure.
