The Highway Superintendent or other officer having charge of
ways may, for the purpose of removing snow or ice, remove or cause
to be removed to some convenient place, including a public garage,
any vehicle parked on Town streets or ways which interfere with such
work and may impose liability for such removal and storage upon the
owner of such vehicle.
Any person intending to erect, repair or take down any building
on land abutting on any public way of the Town and who desires to
use any portion of said way for rubbish or building material must
first obtain written permission from the Board of Selectmen. Such
permit shall be on the condition that the licensee shall:
A. First:
keep the area sufficiently lit between sunset and sunrise at or near
the part of such way obstructed or unsafe;
B. Second:
keep a railing or guard around the same while such obstruction shall
continue;
C. Third:
restore the way to its former condition; and
D. Fourth:
execute an agreement to indemnify the Town against all damages arising
from the existence of such obstruction.
[Amended 10-21-2019 FTM
by Art. 1]
No person shall suffer any obstruction to remain within the
limits of a street or upon any sidewalk so as to in any manner obstruct

by any constable or police officer to remove the same. No fence shall
be erected with a setback of less than 10 feet from a vehicular right-of-way
or shall be erected to obscure vehicular site lines.
No person shall throw, pipe, or otherwise deposit in any manner,
or allow to be dropped from any vehicle, upon any public way, place,
or square in the Town, any article, substance or material, including
snow and water, which may cause or create a hazardous condition in
such public way, place or square.
No person shall distribute papers, circulars, or advertising
matter through the public streets or public places of the Town in
such a manner as to make litter.
No person shall stand, obstruct or loiter on any sidewalk or
public way in such a manner as to interfere with free passage for
pedestrians or motor vehicles.
