There is hereby established a Reserve Police Force for the City
of Trenton, Missouri, whose members shall be appointed by the Chief
of Police with the approval of the City Administrator.

Members of the Police Reserve Force may receive such compensation
as may be approved by the Chief of Police and the City Administrator
taking in to account such factors as experience and the level of training.

The Police Reserve Force shall be under the direct control and
supervision of the Chief of Police or his/her designee.

The Chief of Police shall have authority to remove, suspend,
or discharge with or without cause any member of the Police Reserve
Force of the City of Trenton.

Only persons of good character and health over the age of twenty-one
(21) years and not more than sixty-five (65) years of age who have
successfully completed such physical, mental, or other requirements
that may be prescribed by the Chief of Police and who have obtained
the Peace Officers Standards and Training Program (POST) certification
shall be appointed to the Police Reserve Force.

All members of the Police Reserve Force shall wear the same
uniform as regular Police Officers of the City of Trenton which uniforms
shall be provided by the City of Trenton.

The Chief of Police or his/her designee shall have the power
to call members of the Reserve Force of active duty as extra Police
Officers for the protection of the City of Trenton, maintenance of
good order, observance of law, and the members of the Reserve Force
when called to active duty shall have all the powers and authority
and shall be subject to all of the duties of members of the regularly
constituted Police Department of the City of Trenton and shall be
subject to the rules and regulations governing the Police Department.
Membership in the Police Reserve Force shall not constitute membership
in the regularly constituted Police Department nor shall any member
of the Police Reserve Unit be entitled to any right or privilege of
compensation, pension, or any other similar right or privilege enjoyed
by members of the regular Police Department or emolument attaching
to any member of the regularly constituted Police Department, except
as otherwise provided by ordinance. The Police Reserve Force members
shall be considered on duty only when scheduled or called to duty
by the Chief of Police or his/her designee.

Each member of the Reserve Force shall be required to maintain
all levels of training and certification as required by the Peace
Officers Standards and Training Program (POST).
