A. It shall
be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle upon streets,
parkways, public parking lots or other public ways in Savannah in
the following manner:
1. So as
to cause such vehicle to make a U-turn.
2. So as
to cause such vehicle to cut donuts.
3. Such
as to cause vehicle to be operated in a careless and imprudent manner.
B. Definitions. As used in this Section, the following terms
shall have these prescribed meanings:
CARELESS AND IMPRUDENT
Operating a motor vehicle in such a manner and at a rate
of speed so as to endanger the property of another or the life or
limb of any person or failure to exercise the highest degree of care.
CUT DONUTS
Turning a vehicle in one (1) continuous movement as to make
it revolve or spin in an angle greater than one hundred eighty degrees
(180°) measured in reference to the direction the vehicle was
traveling immediately prior to executing such movement.
U-TURN
Turning a vehicle in one (1) continuous movement so as to
make it proceed in the opposite direction than it was traveling immediately
prior to executing such movement.

No person shall stop, stand, or park any vehicle upon the west
side of Business Route 71 Highway from Main Street south to the City
limits.

A. It shall
be unlawful for any person to impede, obstruct or interfere with the
free use of certain streets, sidewalks, alleys or public ways in the
Savannah Business District by another:
1. By coasting,
roller skating, ice skating, and skateboarding on streets, sidewalks,
alleys or public ways within the Savannah Business District; or
2. By sitting,
standing, lying or any other conduct with the intent to impede, obstruct
or interfere with such free use of streets, sidewalks, alleys or public
ways within the Savannah Business District.

No person on the premises of a school, drive-in restaurant,
drive-in supermarket, shopping center, bank or any other parking lot
open to public access shall race the motor of any motor vehicle, needlessly
bring to a sudden start or stop any motor vehicle, blow any horn on
a motor vehicle needlessly or in excess or cause to be made any loud
or unseemly noise, nuisance or disturbance or operate any motor vehicle,
motorcycle or other vehicle in such a reckless or careless manner
or at such an excessive speed whereby the peace, security, safety
or the premises, the neighborhood or any person or property is disturbed
or threatened.

A. In order
to promote the safety and welfare of the residents of the City of
Savannah, and in order to preserve the streets of Savannah from unnecessary
wear and tear, the Board of Aldermen for the City of Savannah finds
it necessary to regulate the operation of commercial motor vehicles
upon the streets of Savannah.
B. No person
shall operate a commercial motor vehicle loaded with freight or merchandise
upon the streets of Savannah except as hereinafter provided.
1. Upon
a designated truck route.
2. Upon
a State controlled highway.
3. Upon
a particular street or combination of streets for the shortest possible
distance to load or unload at a place where there is no means of ingress
or egress by use of a designated truck route or State controlled highway,
semi-tractors with attached trailer units not carrying freight or
merchandise may travel upon a particular street or combination of
streets for the shortest possible distance to the driver's residence
or other storage location, but in no case shall the trailer unit be
parked on any City street.
C. Definitions. As used in this Section, the following terms
shall have these prescribed meanings:
COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLE
A vehicle designed or regularly used for carrying freight
and merchandise, or more than eight (8) passengers, except pickup
trucks, van pools, shuttle buses or school buses and semi-tractor
without attached trailer unit.
DESIGNATED TRUCK ROUTES
10th Street from Business Route 71 Highway south to Chestnut
then west to City limits.
6th Street from Business Route 71 Highway south to Route
T and Route DD.
Main Street from Business Route 71 Highway to 6th Street.
5th Street from Business Route 71 Highway to Main Street.
Swenson Drive from Business Route 71 Highway to Route DD.
Price Street from the east City limits to 14th Street
14th Street from Chestnut to T Highway
STATE CONTROLLED HIGHWAY
Those portions of the following highways located within the
City of Savannah:
State Route DD
State Route E
State Route T
State Route C
Business Route 71 Highway
VEHICLE
Any device on wheels designed primarily for use on streets
or highways.
