The Board of Aldermen hereby adopts "The International Residential
Code, 2006 Edition" as published by the International Code Council,
Inc., a copy of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk/Treasurer
of the City of Savannah, Missouri, be and is here adopted as the Residential
Code of the City of Savannah, Missouri, for regulating and governing
the construction, alteration, movement, enlargement, replacement,
repair, equipment, location, removal and demolition of detached one-
and two-family dwellings and multiple single-family dwellings (town
houses) not more than three (3) stories in height with separate means
of egress as herein provided; providing for the issuance of permits
and collection of fees therefore; and each and all of the regulations,
provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said International
Residential Code are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof,
as if fully set out in this Section.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this Article or
any portion of the Code adopted in this Article shall be deemed guilty
of an ordinance violation and upon conviction thereof shall be fined
in an amount not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00) or be imprisoned
in the City or County Jail for a period of not exceeding ninety (90)
days, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day such violation
is committed or permitted to continue shall constitute a separate
offense and shall be punishable as such hereunder.
