The term "yard sale" ,as used in this Article,
shall be defined as a sale of general household goods, clothing and
like items conducted at an individual or family's residence, not as
a business. This definition shall include such sales as are commonly
referred to as patio sales, garage sales, lawn sales or other like
terms.

An individual conducting a yard sale as herein defined must,
at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the beginning of said sale,
obtain a permit for the same from the City Collector of the City of
Savannah, Missouri, and display said permit in the front yard at the
site of the said sale during the period of the said sale. During the
time of the Main Street Committee's City Wide Garage Sale, no regular
garage sale permits will be issued.

The City Collector shall issue a yard sale permit to an individual
not later than twenty-four (24) hours prior to the sale, upon the
payment of the sum of five dollars ($5.00). The City Collector shall
issue no more than two (2) such permits to the same individual during
any one (1) calendar year, said permits being each valid for a period
of three (3) days only. Said permits shall state on the face thereof
the dates, location and individuals conducting said sale. An individual
may obtain a permit only for use at their actual residence.

The City Collector at his/her discretion may extend or continue
a permit issued to another date if there is a showing that the sale
was not conducted on the dates specified on the permit due to weather,
or illness of the individual conducting the sale. In no case may the
City Collector utilize the discretion in this Section to allow a sale
to be held for more than three (3) days.
