All water bills shall be due and payable within 30 days of due date.
A penalty of 10% per month on the unpaid balance shall be charged until paid.
Nonpayment of a water bill for a period of two billing cycles after due date shall constitute cause to shut off the water supply. No water service shall be restored until a nonrefundable fee of $100 shall have been deposited with the Village Treasurer.
In the event the water is shut off on any property for nonpayment of water bill, a fee of $250 shall be required before the service is restored, in addition to the payment of all delinquent bills and other charges.
New water taps to any home shall be made by the Water Authority only.
The water tap to any home or home site shall not exceed one inch.
A service charge of $2,200 shall be paid to the Water Authority for any new water tap.
Any person or persons who shall obtain water from the water system which has been closed by the Water Authority for nonpayment of water bill or other charges, or by creating an unauthorized tap into the water main, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to the following:
A. 
A fine of $100 plus cost.
B. 
A charge of $3,000 for the unauthorized tap.
C. 
Only after Subsections A and B have been complied with will an application for an authorized tap be considered.

If a homeowner turns on or off his own water there will be:
A. 
A fine of $500 per occurrence.
B. 
If there is damage, the homeowner will be charged the actual costs to repair damages (time and materials) plus any administrative cost, legal fees, inspection fees and any other fees and costs incurred by the Village in relation to a violation of this section.

Nonpayment of water bills, penalties, fines and assessments against a home or property for two billing cycles shall constitute cause for the Village Council to institute whatever legal action is necessary to ensure payment and file a lien against said home or property and record same.
A. 
The charges for water services, pursuant to the provisions of Section 21 of Act No. 210 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1941 (MCLA § 141.121) and Section 2 of Act No. 178 of the Public Acts of 1939, as amended by Act No. 132 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1981 (MCLA § 123.162), and as may be amended in the future, are a lien on all premises immediately upon the distribution of water service to the premises or property supplied
B. 
The Village Treasurer shall annually, on May 1, certify all unpaid charges for such services furnished to any premises which, on April 30 preceding, have remained unpaid for a period of six months, to the Township Assessor, who shall place the same on the next tax roll of the Township. An additional penalty in an amount equal to 15% of the delinquent bill shall be added at the time the delinquent bill is entered on the tax roll.
C. 
Such charges so assessed shall be collected in the same manner as general Village taxes, in cases where the Village is properly notified in accordance with Section 21 of Act No. 210 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1941 (MCLA § 141.121).
The owner of a home and/or property shall be liable for any indebtedness created against it, regardless of whether it was created by the owner or tenant, with or without his knowledge, permission or approval.
