A. 
Floodlights or spot lamps, if used, should illuminate only the boundaries within the homeowner's lot. They shall not be directed or aimed in such a way as to cause a glare to neighboring properties or partial blindness to motorists.
B. 
It shall be considered unlawful for any homeowner to install a high-intensity spotlight or floodlight without proper shield.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
HIGH INTENSITY
Any commercial or consumer-grade lamp such as mercury vapor, metal halide or sodium.
PROPER SHIELD
Any type of shield or lens that will direct the light downward towards the ground or away from the public.
The Village of Michiana shall have the power to enforce and regulate this chapter and to make judgment as to the enforcement and interpretation of this chapter. Upon notification of a violation, the Building Inspector will determine the offense. Appeal process will be through the Zoning, Planning and Environmental Commission with final decision resting upon the Council.
Violators of the provisions of this chapter will be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined in an amount not to exceed $100.
