There is hereby created and established the position of Assistant
City Collector for the City of Bowling Green, Missouri.

A qualified person shall be hired by the City Administrator
with the approval of the Mayor to serve as Assistant City Collector
for the City of Bowling Green, Missouri.

The person employed for the position of Assistant City Collector
shall have graduated from high school (or an equivalent GED), including
supplemental courses in bookkeeping, computerized office software
and have experience in clerical and financial work involving public
contact or any equivalent combination of prior training and work-related
experiences.

The Assistant City Collector's compensation shall be such sum
as may be set from time to time by the Board of Aldermen and in no
case shall be entitled to receive any commissions, fees or percentages
of any accounts or receipts.

A. Payments. The Assistant City Collector shall be responsible
for accepting all tax and utility payments which include: water/sewer
bills; utility deposits; real estate taxes; personal property taxes;
permits; franchise taxes; animal licenses; rental of community center;
park/lake shelters and swimming pool usage.
B. Customer Service. The Assistant City Collector shall be
responsible for providing efficient customer service which shall include:
all payments made in person; answering incoming telephone calls work
with title companies on tax questions and research; issue work orders
to Public Works Department for water reconnection and general customer
services; provide and accept permit applications; provide and accept
applications for employment; and assist Police personnel with background
information as requested.
C. Financial. The Assistant City Collector shall assist in
the preparation of monthly financial reports that include: preparing
monthly reconciliations of all transactions for the Treasurer; prepare
daily deposits; assist with all monthly reports as requested by the
Treasurer; prepare daily spreadsheets for swimming pool deposits and
taxes paid/delinquent to date; prepare monthly account aging reports
for outstanding utility bills; and forward letters to customers for
outstanding delinquent utility bills.
D. Administrative/Clerical. The Assistant City Collector shall
assist with daily activities of all City staff personnel to include:
sorting the mail; applying postage; ordering office supplies; typing;
filing; and other personnel duties as requested.
