There shall be a standing committee of the Board of Aldermen
of the City of Bowling Green, Missouri, known as the General Committee.

All Alderpersons shall be members of the General Committee.
At the first (1st) regular meeting of the General Committee following
the general City election each year, the members shall elect a Chairman
and Vice Chairman for the General Committee who shall serve for a
period of one (1) year; however, no person shall serve as Chairman
for more than two (2) consecutive years.

The General Committee shall meet at such times and dates as
the Committee may designate or as may be called by the Mayor, City
Administrator, Chairman or Vice Chairman of the General Committee.
All meetings of the General Committee shall be held at the City Hall
in Bowling Green, Missouri, and four (4) of the six (6) members present
shall constitute a quorum for that meeting.

The General Committee shall serve as a working session to consider,
coordinate, plan and review all activities of the City including,
but not limited to, all of the items which were formerly considered
by the Finance and Personnel Committee, Property and Development Committee,
Public Safety Committee and Public Works Committee. The General Committee
shall make regular reports and recommendations to the Board of Aldermen.

The Mayor, City Clerk and City Administrator shall attend all
meetings of the General Committee. Other officers and employees of
the City shall attend any meeting upon the request of the Mayor, City
Administrator, Chairman or Vice Chairman.

The General Committee shall have no authority to adopt ordinances
or otherwise bind the City in any manner, the authority of the General
Committee being strictly limited to reporting and recommending to
the Board of Aldermen. That is, although all Aldermen are members
of the General Committee, such meeting is not a meeting of the Board
of Aldermen and no ordinance or other action binding the City may
be adopted at a meeting of the General Committee.
