A. 
Before entering upon the duties of his/her employment every Police Officer shall take and subscribe to an oath or affirmation before some court of record, magistrate or the City Clerk/Administrator, which oath or affirmation shall be in the following form:
"I, (name) solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the Constitution of the United States and of the State of Missouri, the provisions of all laws of the State of Missouri affecting the City of Brentwood and the ordinances of the City of Brentwood and that I will faithfully and diligently demean myself at all times while serving as a Police Officer of the City of Brentwood."
B. 
This oath or affirmation shall be filed with the City Clerk/Administrator. No Police Officer, however, other than the Chief of Police, shall be required to give bond to the City.
