A. 
In order to protect the public health, safety and local environment the City of Brentwood, Missouri, shall operate a program to repair defective sewer lateral lines on qualifying residential properties in the City in accord with the provisions of Section 249.422, RSMo., 2016, funded exclusively by the revenue derived from the fee established by Section 500.1120, below.
B. 
The Board of Aldermen may by Resolution adopt and from time to time revise and amend policies for the efficient and effective administration of the residential sewer lateral repair program provided herein. Any such policies shall be made readily available to the public.

The Collector of Taxes of St. Louis County is hereby directed to collect, on behalf of the City of Brentwood, an annual sewer lateral fee in accord with Section 249.422, RSMo., 2016, in the amount of fifty dollars ($50.00) on each residential property having six (6) or fewer dwelling units to provide funds to pay the cost of repairs of lateral sewer lines pursuant to the policy and program authorized in this Article. The fee imposed pursuant to this Section shall be imposed upon condominiums that have six (6) or less condominium units per building and each condominium unit in such a configuration shall be responsible for its proportionate share of any fee charged pursuant to this Section, and in addition, any condominium unit shall, if determined to be responsible for and served by its own individual lateral sewer line, be treated as an individual residence regardless of the number of units in the development. It shall be the responsibility of the condominium owner or condominium association who are of the opinion that they are not properly classified as provided in this Section to notify the St. Louis County Department of Revenue to rectify the situation.
