There is hereby established the office of Court Clerk for the
City of Pleasant Valley and the 7th Municipal Division of the Clay
County Circuit Court.
The Court Clerk shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent
of a majority of the members of the Board of Aldermen to serve for
an unspecified term at the will of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen.

The position of Court Administrator shall be a full-time position.
The Court Administrator, and/or their designee, shall attend all sessions
of the 7th Municipal Division Court. The Pleasant Valley Municipal
Court office shall be open for transaction of Municipal Court business
from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, except on legal
holidays. The Court Administrator, or their designee, shall be available
in person or by phone for at least thirty (30) hours per week; fifteen
(15) hours may be electronic communication, and fifteen (15) hours
must be in person, excluding weeks with legal holidays conflicting.
Compensation for the Court Administrator shall be established by ordinance
from time to time.

A. The
Court Clerk's duties shall include the following:
1. To prepare and maintain the Municipal Court docket;
2. To log and file all tickets, information, complaints, summons, bonds,
bond receipts and reports;
3.
To prepare all warrants, summonses, bonds, bond forfeitures
and notices pertaining to same;

4. To receipt and account for all bonds, fines, costs or other moneys
paid to the Municipal Court;
5. To deliver moneys collected in Court to the City Clerk for deposit
into appropriate City accounts;
6. To maintain and respond to all correspondence directed to the Municipal
Court;
7.
To prepare month end, annual and bi-annual reports due to all
appropriate entities, including but not limited to the City Clerk,
Board of Aldermen, Municipal Judge, Presiding Judge, Office of State
Courts Administrator;

8. To report to City Treasurer each month on the amount of Crime Victims'
Compensation (CVC) Funds and any other funds collected for distribution
to parties or entities other than the City in association with Court
proceedings; and
9. To serve as the Traffic Violations Clerk for the Pleasant Valley
Municipal Division and receive entries of appearance, waivers of appearance,
pleas of guilty and payments of fines and costs in accord with the
laws of the State of Missouri and the rules of the Circuit Court for
Clay County; and
10.
To perform such other duties as may be directed by the Judge
of the Municipal Division and the Presiding Judge of Clay County.
