A. In
all Residential Districts short term sales of used household items
commonly referred to as garage sales, basement sales, yard sales,
or rummage sales may be held provided the following conditions are
met:
1. Sales are conducted on the owner's property. Multiple-family sales
are permitted if they are held on the property of one (1) of the participants.
2. Not more than two (2) sales shall occur on the same premises in a
twelve (12) month period.
3. No such sale shall be of more than three (3) days duration.
4. No goods purchased for resale may be offered for sale.
5. No consignment goods may be offered for sale.
6. Any signs used for advertising or directing traffic to the sale shall
be removed immediately upon closing of the sale.
7. All directional and advertising signs placed on private property
shall have the owner's permission.
8. No directional or advertising signs may be larger than two (2) feet
by three (3) feet.
9. Directional signs may not be placed on the street right-of-way or
utility poles.
B. Any
person or persons found in violation of any provision or provisions
of this Chapter as heretofore set forth, shall, upon conviction thereof
be punished by a fine of not less than five dollars ($5.00) or more
than five hundred dollars ($500.00).
