The Board of Aldermen may appoint a Building Inspector who also
may be appointed the enforcement officer. Said office shall be appointed
by a majority vote of the members of the Board of Aldermen and who
shall serve at the will of the Board of Aldermen and not for any definite
term. His/her compensation, if any, shall be fixed by the Board of
Aldermen. Any person aggrieved by any act or ruling of the enforcement
officer may appeal in writing to the Board of Adjustment for final
disposition.

It shall be the duty of the enforcement officer to enforce the
provisions of this Chapter and to refuse any permit for any building
or for the use of any premises which would violate any of the provisions
of said ordinance. It shall also be the duty of all officers and employees
of the City and especially of all members of the Police Department
to assist the enforcing officer by reporting to him/her any seeming
violation in new construction, reconstruction or land uses.
